GMA supplies Dulceria Nacional… for a sweeter future

GMA will be an official supplier of the new Dulceria Nacional factory, located in the Viana Industrial Complex in Luanda and inaugurated by the President of the Republic on June 9.

It is a new project built by Webcor Group, which is also a shareholder of GMA, as part of its commitment to the development and diversification of the Angolan economy, in collaboration with Arcor Group, an Argentine multinational company with more than 70 years of market presence.

With this joint operation between Webcor and Arcor, Dulceria Nacional will supply the Angolan market and, in a second phase, all of sub-Saharan Africa. The main export markets will be South Africa, Mozambique, Congo, Namibia, Zambia and Botswana.

Arcor is the largest food company in Argentina and Webcor is an agro-industrial company that has been present in Angola for over 30 years.

The new Dulceria Nacional is the biggest chocolate, confectionery and biscuit factory in the country and the result of a $45 million investment. With an established capacity of 3,700 tons per year of chocolate, it is expected to soon start producing cookies with a production capacity of 7,000 tons, where GMA plays an important role in supplying key raw materials for production. The factory will also have a production line for hard candy with a capacity of 5,000 tons per year.

With an area of more than 11,500 m2, including the physical structure and state-of-the-art equipment, Dulceria Nacional, a world-class factory, meets exactly the same quality standards as the famous brands Bon o Bon, Sambapito, Serranitas, Triunfo and Maná, among others, imported to date.

With a team of more than 150 employees, mainly Angolan nationals trained and supported by qualified technicians from Argentina, Brazil and Italy, the factory will provide an estimated 500 jobs when fully operational.
